Last week our church held the annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) for the local kids in the community. Generally after the conclusion of the VBS, the next service includes the children at the front of the church performing the songs they learned. While sometimes these are met with humor and varied levels of singing ability, this is important as children need to know they are a part of the church service and not just relegated to the kids church to be picked up later.

I’ve sat through these sessions many years. Yet, this morning I saw things differently. On the altar stood 20+ kids aged 4 to 9 (as my best guess). As the lady leading them asked, “Are you ready?” in her best enthusiastic tone, some kids yelled “YES!” One boy about the age of seven said “No” just loud enough to be noticed. As the singing began he was involved with it like many of them. It was apparent that his initial reluctance came from nervousness and he needed to verbalize it in some way.

As the singing began, I noticed the different children. Some came from families of financial means; others were obviously poorer A few looked pretty homely. Throughout the group were children of many different races and cultures. Standing there before me was a representation of our society. Some participated because that had to, some didn’t participate because they were nervous or perhaps didn’t want to. Some participated because they wanted to.

Those who didn’t participate endured the moments they had to stand up front and pretended knowing the words. One boy just walked around the front with his finger in his mouth. This pretty much emulates our society. We have people that are are nervous and unsure of themselves and do what they need to do to get by. Others just fake it and some in society walk around like the kid with his finger in his mouth, adding nothing.

What really caught my attention were those children that participated because THEY WANTED TO. Most tried to remember the words and motions that went with each song. Some did better than others, but that’s okay. They were willing to be participants and seemed to get the meaning of why they were up there. While some will think that the VBS sing-a-long is just to prove to parents that their kids learned some songs, the important point is that children learn who GOD is, our place on this earth and why He sent His Son to die in our places.

Of the bunch, two children really impacted me. There was a little black girl about four-years old and a white girl about six years of age. These two sang every word like it was a part of them. Every move was learned and completed with a reverence for GOD. When they sang, “I will sing of the Lord Forever”, they meant it. By the last song when they sung, “Ancient Words” by Michael W. Smith (A difficult song for a 4 & 6 year old by the way), I found myself moved and wiping my eyes. Standing before me were two small children showing reverence to GOD.

My mind was immediately drawn to the memory of some other children I know. Their parents don’t take them to church and do little to build the core foundational values of Christianity in their lives. Why? Recently I was told, “XXX works six days a week and is tired on Sunday.” Ok…

Who gave you those six days to live, breathe and earn an income?

Given that unemployment is rampant in this country, why is it that taking time to thank the GOD that blesses is such a burden?

What does OUR comfort have to do with the state of our children’s soul?

GOD hears the prayers of those that know Him. Do we want our children blessed or not? (GOD does hear the prayer of salvation from the unsaved)

We ask GOD for help when we’re in a bind and don’t acknowledge him when things are going well. We say we need GOD to turn our country around yet we fail our children by removing opportunities for their spiritual faith building. We are in a time when we can no longer fool around. We don’t go to church or read the bible because we might look “Too Spiritual”. Who are we afraid of? Why does stepping up to the plate and being a man or woman leader, building our children’s knowledge of GOD scare us?

If we love our children, we should do all that we can amidst a world of hurtful people to strengthen them. We should at a minimum be like the kids who walked to the front of the church, sang and gave it their best shot. It’s the road to spiritual strengthening and blessing that our children should have as a cover in perilous times.

As a Senator, Barack Obama said that teach sex education to kindergartners is, “The Right Thing to Do.” Look at the video and hear his own words as he swoons his audience with his immoral agenda. This shows that back in 2007 he was already pursuing the approach of dismantling the moral compass that our young children should follow. What good could this possibly bring?

Direct Link to Video

In Helena, Montana a proposed educational curriculum includes teaching five year old children the proper names for male and female sex organs. According to the draft proposal, kindergartners will be introduced to basic reproductive body parts (penis, vagina, breast, nipples, testicles, scrotum, uterus). By the second grade, children are instructed not to make fun of homosexuals. Granted, everyone should be treated fairly and the calling of names and hurtful behavior is wrong. However, adding this element to the curriculum shows clear involvement by those with a gay agenda to begin changing the mindset of morality at a young age. Communist countries learned long ago the effectiveness of teaching political doctrine to children. This is particularly true when viewing the fifth grade agenda:

Understand that sexual intercourse includes but is not limited to vaginal, oral, or anal penetration

Understand sexual orientation refers to a person’s physical and/or romantic attraction to an individual of the same and/or different gender, and is one part of ones’ personality

BALONEY. It has to do with one’s choices.

What is wrong with allowing children the ability to grow up without having to digest something like this at such a young age? What responsible parent really believes that a five year old is psychologically matured and able to handle these lessons with adding such stressors? Teaching children such behaviors as homosexuality as an alternative will only cause children who are already unsure of themselves to be more unsure.

This agenda opens the door to abuses by pedophiles. If children are already impressionable and unsure of themselves, it will be much easier for offenders to recruit their prey. During this last year of research for my upcoming Human Trafficking book, I’ve seen what appears to be an increase in child trafficking globally and here in the U.S. Teaching sex to small children only increases the chance of further victimization.

The draft sex education proposal for the Helena, Montana is available HERE.

Educational programs like this are entered into our schools and teach our children “alternative lifestyles” because at most, we shake our fist, say we are mad, then go back to our lives because we justify we are too busy to get involved. We can no longer count on our politicians to look out for our best interest. Anyone who believes that GOD and our national morality are important for our future should have a list of politicians at the ready. People are willing to ramble on aimlessly on their cell phone while driving, yet are unwilling to call their Congressmen and expect them to represent us (as they said they would).

If we as a nation fail to stand up with the freedom of speech that we currently still have, then those with an immoral agenda will overtake us.

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I’ve seen a man do in my whole life.

The Harley rider replies, Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.

The reporter says, Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a journalist, you know, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front page… So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?

The biker replies, I’m a U.S. Marine and a Republican.

The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH

That pretty much sums up the media’s approach to the news these days.

President Obama would have you to believe that the oil rig explosion and subsequent catastrophic (and continuing) oil spill was an unexpected and sudden accident. Yet Bloomberg reported that BP recognized issues with the Rig and filed a report with the Minerals Management Service on February 13, 2010:

It took 10 days to plug the first cracks, according to reports BP filed with the Minerals Management Service that were later delivered to congressional investigators. Cracks in the surrounding rock continued to complicate the drilling operation during the ensuing weeks. Left unsealed, they can allow explosive natural gas to rush up the shaft.

“Once they realized they had oil down there, all the decisions they made were designed to get that oil at the lowest cost,” said Peter Galvin of the Center for Biological Diversity, which has been working with congressional investigators probing the disaster. “It’s been a doomed voyage from the beginning.”

Speaking of the Minerals Management Service…These are the folks that are tasked with conducting inspections of the oil rigs to ensure they are operating in compliance with federal safety regulations. Yet, a report by the Department of Interior Inspector General released on May 25th reveals the government agency has serious problems. According to the FederalDaily, MMS Inspectors admitted to the use of crystal methamphetamine while on the job. The IG auditors discovered that the oil companies being inspected were in fact, providing incentives to the inspectors. The inspectors received:

“…tickets to sporting events, sponsored teams, and inundated employees with free lunches and miscellaneous gifts—such as an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2005 Peach Bowl.”

In addition to the drugs and gifts, IG auditors discovered:

“…314 instances in which seven employees received or forwarded pornographic images and links to Internet Web sites to other federal employees and individuals outside of the office using their government e-mail accounts.”

So here we are more than two months after the rig explosion killed eleven workers and possibly the future economic viability of thousands of small businessmen and citizens throughout the gulf region. Supporting industries and tourism, all leading to much-needed jobs during an economic crisis are impacted. The environment and indigenous aquaculture damaged and there’s the chance of long-lasting effect of pollutants, benzene and heavy metals inhaled by citizens. This comes at a time when the government claims they will manage health care. How are they to manage health care when this administration is unable to manage the truth? Obama pretended that this was a surprise event. Yet, we now know that he lied. Then, it took him 39 days to even get to the scene. This is the same guy who sat on the sidelines criticizing President Bush about hurricane Katrina.

Many years ago I lived in Louisiana. At the time, the state was under the control of another smooth-talker and eventual convicted criminal: Governor Edwin Edwards. Even though he was a crook, he did love his state. When the state was in financial distress, he opted to relinquish all pay while in office. Maybe our current smooth-talking, truth-avoiding president could learn from that example. Unlike Governor Edwards, Obama has not shown the ability to manage anything. Nor has he been able to recruit the right people to ask the right questions and get the right things done. Instead, he’s surrounded himself NOT with experts, but perverts of democratization, all with an underlying agenda of liberal socialism.

He hasn’t proven his ability to lead or manage a crisis. Instead he’s hidden from the truth of his inadequacy. There are many things that need to be done in this nation to rebuild the damage done by selfish politicians and political correctness. For now, we have an ongoing crisis that needs to be brought under control. It’s time to reach across political aisles and talk with experts in their fields. It’s time to listen to those many small businessmen and inventors that have shown a capability to bring positive solutions to the ongoing spill. Last week I heard Obama say:

“It is much easier to clean up the oil once it reaches the shores.”

This is continual proof that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and those that should be guiding him, don’t know what they are talking about either. Oil that reaches our shores becomes embedded into the soil, harms the eco-culture, water tables and increases the cost of a cleanup with lost tourism and equipment needed to dig the oil out of the sand. Some localities have begun to take matters into their own hands rather than hope the government will get it right. Oil is easier to clean up when contained in a patch at sea – not polluting our shores.

Mr. President: Clean up the MMS charged with oversight of the rigs. Stop talking and start listening to those that know what they are talking about. Then, get out of the way and let them do what they do best.
